About Dr. Wakefield

Elizabeth Wakefield, DPM, is a friendly and gentle podiatrist caring for adults with all types of foot and ankle issues at Nashville Podiatry. Dr. Wakefield provides care at two locations in Gallatin and Hendersonville, Tennessee, and uses the best available technology and medical techniques to diagnose and treat a range of foot and ankle issues including bunions, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis, ankle pain and injuries, heel spurs, fungal infections, warts, and diabetic foot care.

Dr. Wakefield earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. While completing her undergraduate education, she received honors for her original research thesis on diabetes and glycemic control. She then attended Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, where she earned her doctorate in podiatric medicine.

Dr. Wakefield relocated to Columbus, Ohio, to complete a three-year residency in podiatric medicine and surgery with an emphasis on reconstructive rear-foot and ankle surgery at Grant Medical Center. Upon completion of her training, Dr. Wakefield settled in Nashville, Tennessee, and joined Nashville Podiatry in 2016.

In her free time, Dr. Wakefield enjoys spending time with her husband and high school sweetheart, Nathan, and their black-and-white rescue cat. She enjoys crafting and counted cross stitch, running, kayaking, hiking, and camping.
